CB&I

21st May 2013 - Alexandra Palace
Won by 20 runs - NRR = 1

The first match of the 2013 season was played under blue skies at Ally Pally on an unseasonably warm May evening...

CIPA won the toss and went into bat. Justin Wilson not showing any hint of the injury that kept him on the sidelines of much of 2012 to score an unbeaten 26. CIPA's only real struggle was against superb fielding and wicket keeping, two run-outs and two stumpings exposing the tail end.

However, CIPA prevailed, with Al Davidson continuing his string of not outs to record an impressive 160 for 6.

In the field, CIPA were perhaps a bit complaicant as the run rate climbed and the openers fell. When N-Pants came in, the player who scored an unbeaten 50 last year the team shuffled back to the boundary. Not long afterwards, a stinging heave was aimed towards the cow boundary. Tony Williams moved across and took the catch to cheers from the team. The cheers were shortlived however as Tony retired from the field and later to hospital to fix broken webbing and a potentially broken finger.

CIPA went onto win the game regarldess, with CB&I never really threatening the target despite accelerating towards the end.
