Agricola (DEFRA)

16th May 2012 - Barnes
Won by 32 runs - NRR = 1.6

A promising start to the season saw CIPA ITMA beat a team from DEFRA by 32 runs.

John Hull got CIPA away quickly with 28 runs from 21 before retiring. A shaky middle order was rescued by the tail end to post a respectable 105 from 20 overs.

Some very controlled bowling put DEFRA under pressure early on, and as the required run rate ramped up, the wickets fell. Stuart Lumsden bowling very accurately and was rewarded with four wickets for just 7 runs. Chris Milton also bowled very economically, with just six runs from his four overs. Rob Jackson took an unconventional catch in the 19th over to finish the chase, DEFRA falling 32 runs short.
